Your Area Guide and Information On About Aegean Coast
Why not come on a hassle free inspection trip and visit our projects.  We will arrange your accommodationThe Aegean coast has a wide variety of towns and villages each with their own charm and personality. Abroad Properties offers a huge range of properties all across the Aegean coast with many starting as low as £50,000. There's something for everyone and that's why we've added descriptions of each region to give a flavour of what each place has to offer.

The Aegean Coast - The Most Popular Centres for Summer Properties

The Aegean is mainly for those who want to use their properties during the summer months from May to October. The Aegean area tends to shut down from October to April and because of this there are fewer direct flights from the UK, therefore resulting in a shorter rental season. It is cooler and wetter than the southern Mediterranean coast.

Kusadasi - Sightseeing Centre of The Aegean

Close to the important historical sites of Ephesus, Didyma, Priene and Miletos, Kusadasi boasts soft sandy beaches with windsurfing, water skiing and sailing all popular in its warm blue waters. During the season it's bustling, palm-lined boulevards with street cafes and the constant comings and goings of yachts and cruise ships from around the world add to its busy cosmopolitan atmosphere.

For lovers of fish and sea food, Kusadasi's many seasonal restaurants serve some of the best dishes you will find as well as offering exciting Aegean specialities. During the season Kusadasi's numerous bars, clubs and exciting discotheques allow the resident or visitor to relax, dance or be entertained until dawn.

Altinkum - Golden Sands For Golden Summers

A family summer seaside town known for its 3 fine sandy beaches, its close proximity to the famous Greek Temple Of Apollo at Didim and its excellent seafood restaurants open throughout the summer months. Reached most often from Bodrum airport, 2 hours away by road, Altinkum is ideal during the hot summer season for windsurfing, water skiing and sailing. Winter weather can be wet and rainy.

Bodrum - A Pretty International Town

It's said that Bodrum, and all those little places around Bodrum make up the prettiest and most cosmopolitan summer town on the Aegean. It is well known for "always being on the go" whether you're eating, drinking or dancing, because during the summer season there are a 'million' places to do either. Situated between Kusadasi to the north and

Marmaris - Waterside Cafe Life

Marmaris to the south, it lies on the south eastern shore of the Bodrum Peninsular and is built on twin bays separated by the massive presence of The Castle of St Peter.

The typical architecture of Bodrum is found in the tiny white box - like houses which are found everywhere throughout the town itself and in the surrounding countryside and mountains. Bodrum is truly international-the New York Times suggested it was the "St Tropez" of Turkey!

Surrounding the 16th Century Citadel is the city of Marmaris, a sophisticated summer resort with excellent restaurants and shops. It boasts one of the most popular marinas for summer yachting enthusiasts navigating the warm blue waters of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. In the summer months the marina has an open air cinema showing the latest English language films and numerous restaurants, bars and shops open within the traffic free centre. From November to April, due to the weather, the area tends to close.

Icmeler - Where Ancient East Meets Modern West

Known as the "sister town" of Marmaris, Icmeler nestles in a small sandy bay with a scenic backdrop of pine clad hills, offering the summer visitor a traditional beach holiday in a slower, more leisurely environment than its busier, bigger 'sister'. Icmeler town, with its modern summer season restaurants, bars and shops, is a just a leisurely stroll away from Icmeler village, where the old way of life still continues.

Not easy to reach off season, most businesses tend to close from November to April when the weather turns cooler and wetter.

Dalaman - Where Your Feet May First Touch Ground

Most people know Dalaman as one of the access points into the Aegean region, although the town itself is delightful with many shops, restaurants, bars and tea gardens. Dalaman has its own huge natural beach and has not been over commercialised. Recent investment to the airport and roads is making it more accessible. Over-development and exploitation of the area is prevented by the protection afforded to the rare loggerhead turtles that frequent the river and beach.

Gocek

During the season Gocek is a major stopover for boats and people who love messing about in them. It is a sophisticated town where in the summer months, races, regattas and social life revolve around the yacht club. The town is full of places to eat and shop but it doesn't boast a beach, though it is recommended for water sports including fishing.

Fethiye - Welcoming Visitors For Over 3,000 years

The harbour town of Fethiye, with its pine-clad mountain backdrop, is reached today via Dalaman airport 30 minutes by road or, from Antalya via the Mugla highway, which may take several hours. Fethiye is a heady mixture of old and new; traditional markets alongside modern supermarkets and historic buildings side by side with bustling boutiques. Fethiye boasts an exciting nightlife with typical and international restaurants open during the drier summer months. The nearest beach is in Calis, a short bus ride away. Fethiye can be difficult to get to out of season, and the winters can be wet and windy.

Oludeniz - Turkey's Most Beautiful Beauty Spot

Famous for its cobalt Blue Lagoon and backdrop of scented pine forests and mountains, Oludeniz is a must for visitors or residents who have an eye for natural beauty. The lagoon itself is within the boundaries of a national park, and its main beach is so large that even in the high season it never becomes overcrowded. During the summer water sports are plentiful and paragliding has become more and more popular due to the spectacular views.

A few shops and mini-markets are all that make up the Oludeniz shopping experience winter or summer, so serious shoppers should follow the signs to nearby Fethiye.
