A: This is not necessary as a 3 months visa can be bought for only £10.

Q: If I purchase a property is there a limit to how often I can visit Turkey?
A: No, there is no limit on how often you can visit Turkey.
 
Q: What is the process of buying a property?
A: The basic procedure is that after choosing your property a deposit is paid, a payment plan is set up and a contract is signed. Permission from the Aegean Army is then applied for. On approval from The Aegean Army the final balance is paid and the Title deeds are converted into the buyer’s name.
 
Q: What kind of taxes will I need to pay?
A: A Buyers Property tax, which will be approx. 1.5% to 3% of the sale agreement price, annual property tax , Community tax – paid twice or once yearly for local services. Community tax can be as little as £30 per annum.
 
Q: How much deposit is required?
A: Usually at least a 10% deposit is required. However, we are very flexible and we are always happy to make arrangements to suit your unique circumstances.
 
Q: Will I be able to rent out my property?

A:  ABROAD PROPERTIES offer a property management service, where we are able to check on your property and pay bills on behalf of you.
 
Q: Do I need a solicitor?
A: Not necessarily, a property in Turkey can be purchased directly from the land registry office. However, to protect the buyer Bemsa Constructıon will only sell property through a solicitor.
 
Q: What are the advantages of buying off plan?
A: Purchasing off plan, at a price below the market value of the property gives the buyer the chance for greater capital appreciation.
 
Q: Is buying a property in Turkey a good investment?
A: Yes, as the prices of residential property are very reasonable at the moment compared to other European markets.
 
Q: If we sell our property, can we take all of our money out of Turkey again?
A: Yes you can. We advise you to transfer the money out of the country via a bank so that the money is recorded leaving and entering both countries.
 
Q: What is the best time of year to come over?
A: Between April and October is the warmest and most pleasent time to visit Turkey. However due to our mild and sunny winters many clients visit us throught the year.

A: This involves a visit to the foreigners section of the local police headquarters with the relevant paperwork.

A: You will need copies of your passport, title deeds, bank account details, 5 photos’ and the relevant fee.
 
Q:  If I were to die, would the Turkish Government have any claim on my property?
A:  No, by Turkish law your property would be inherited between the remaining spouse, children or parents.
 
Q: Are their flights to Turkey in winter?
A: Yes, flights are now available throughout winter.
 
Q: Can I bring my own furniture across from UK?
A: It is quite a lengthy and expensive procedure to ship furniture from The UK and it is not something we recommend. Turkey offers a good selection of furniture to buy which is reasonably priced and it is an easier option.
 
Q: What is the crime rate like in Turkey?
A: The crime rate is low in Turkey – definitely much lower than in Spain and the UK

Q: Apart from Turkish Lira, what other currencies are accepted in Turkey?
A: Sterling, Euros and American Dollars.
 
Q: Can I have satellite TV installed?
A: Yes you can, you will receive programmes such as BBC World, BBC Prime, CNN International, Eurosport and some other English channels.
 
Q: Can I have a land line telephone installed?
A: If you have a residency visa, you can have a telephone installed.
 
Q: What is the electricity voltage?
A: It is 220 volts. Your UK electrical equipment will work perfectly in Turkey. It is reccomended that sensitive items such as laptops are used in conjunction with a surge protector.
 
Q: If I purchase property within a complex, how much would I have to pay yearly for maintenance?
A: Maintenance costs for complexes vary from approximately £300 to £500 per year.
 
Q: Can we drink water from the tap?
A: The tap water has a high mineral content. It is recommended to drink bottled water at all times .
 
Q: Can I open a bank account in Turkey?
